To reduce the rate of unemployment and youth restiveness, Chikun Local Government Council has trained over one hundred youth and women on solar power installation .
Held at the CAN office behind NNPC Quarters, Kaduna, the training was sponsored by the Council chairman, Engineer Salasi Nuhu Musa as part of efforts to complement the state government drive to support youth and women in the state.
The eight weeks training which was organized by a private company in collaboration with the Kaduna Skills Acquisition Centre, intensively trained youth and women on electrical and electronics installation.
Speaking after the training, the Council Chairman, Engineer Salasi Nuhu Musa said the training is inline with his administration's commitment to ensure that youth and women in the area are empowered.
He promised that the council will continue to trained other sets of youth and women in the area to give them an opportunity to earn a living.
Some of the beneficiaries interviewed, thanked the Council Chairman for the gesture and promised to utilize what they have learned.
They also promised to trained other youth and women in their various areas for the benefit of the society.
