Gov Fintiri approves N8 billion for retirees gratuities

Adamawa state government has approved N8 billion to clear the backlog of gratuities owed state and local government retirees in the state.

The state Governor, Umaru Fintiri, who stated this during the Bwatiye 2025 International Cultural Festival and Development Foundation Fundraising in Yola, said the funds would be disbursed next month.

He congratulated the Bwatiye nation for successfully hosting the event themed “Culture and Development,” describing it as apt and significant for fostering unity among the people.

Fintiri appreciated the Bwatiye community for their unwavering support over the past six years and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting unity and peace across Adamawa State.

Chairman of the occasion, Dr Agbu Kefas, described Adamawa and Taraba States as “twin sisters” that share many things in common.

In his remarks, the president of Pena Da Bwatiye Development Association Worldwide, Chief James Iliya, said the event was organised to celebrate the unity of the people and promote shared prosperity and development.
