Nigeria Military to intensify operations against insurgents


To further tackle security challenges, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has vowed to intensify military operations against insurgents in the North-East, with new combat equipment set to boost troops’ effectiveness. 

Speaking during a visit to the Operation HADIN KAI headquarters in Maiduguri, General Musa urged soldiers to remain aggressive in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents, stressing that the nation depends on their success.  

He assured that additional weapons and operational support would soon be deployed to strengthen the military’s efforts.  

Earlier, the Defence Chief inspected the site of a recent explosion at Giwa Barracks, where he praised bomb disposal teams for their swift response.  

The Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, who welcomed the visit, calling it a morale booster for troops.  

The military high command says it remains committed to ending terrorism in the North-East, with enhanced resources and renewed determination.
