The North-West region which is the ‘heartbeat of the All Progressives Congress’ is faring better under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani stated this at the APC North-West Stakeholders Meeting held in Kaduna over the weekend.

Similarly, Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, predicted a landslide victory for President Tinubu and the ruling APC in the 2027 general elections.

Governor Sani, who also serves as the Coordinating Governor for the APC in the North-West, praised President Tinubu for taking bold and decisive steps during what he called one of the most difficult periods in Nigeria’s history.

He added that under the Tinubu administration, security in the region has significantly improved, stating that the zone, which was once the epicentre of banditry, terrorism, and kidnapping, is now experiencing relative peace.

The Governor also highlighted that the North-West has received 12 ministerial appointments in the Federal Cabinet, and the emergence of key figures from the region, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Deputy Senate President, the National Chairman of the APC, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Chief of Air Staff.

He also mentioned major infrastructural projects such as the completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano dual carriageway, the Ilella-Badagry Road Project, Kaduna and Kano Rail Projects, and the construction of the Birnin Gwari-Kaduna and Jere-Kafanchan roads.

Governor Uba Sani noted the provision of N95 billion for the rehabilitation of three dams in Kano, the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development, and the North-West Development Commission, which has the highest budget allocation among the regional commissions.

He also cited the creation of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and the conversion of Patrick Yakowa General Hospital in Kafanchan to a Federal Medical Centre.

Also speaking at the event, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin assured party stakeholders of victory in the next election cycle.

Jibrin attributed the wave of defections from opposition parties to the APC to President Tinubu’s performance in addressing security and economic challenges, particularly in the North-West.

He also praised APC governors for their performance, which he said has further solidified the party’s dominance in the region.
