Nigerian Correctional Service commissions state-of-the-art reform bakery by in Kaduna

The Federal Government has reinforced its commitment to modernizing Nigeria's correctional system with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art reform bakery by the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) in Kaduna.

The facility, was inaugurated at the Kakuri Open Custodial Centre shortly after the Passing Out Parade of the 32nd Assistant Superintendent of Corrections (ASC) Basic Course.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, described the project as a critical step toward improving inmate welfare, enhancing institutional efficiency, and offering practical vocational training aligned with national rehabilitation goals.

He was represented by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (Rtd)

In his remarks, Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, applauded the public-private partnership model, calling the bakery a shining example of innovation in correctional management.
