FG assures of commitment to supporting River Basin Authorities

President Tinubu

The federal government has re-affirmed its commitment to support the River Basin Development Authorities (RBDAs) toward boosting food security across the country.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, made the pledge when the delegation from the Lower Benue Basin Development Authority, led by its Chairman, Dr. Amos Gizo paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.

While expressing confidence that they have all it takes to deliver on their mandate, the SGF assured them that President Bola Tinubu is committed to providing all the necessary support to enable them deliver effectively.

He stressed that as the nation’s population grows exponentially, it may also have an adverse implication on food security, highlighting the need for them to bring their wealth of experience to bear in ensuring that the nation has enough food to feed Nigerians and the rest of West Africa.

In a remark, the Chairman of the Lower Benue Basin Development Authority, Dr. Amos Gizo assured of their best in improving agricultural activities and ensuring all-year-round crop production in the country.
