Kaduna State Police Command has announced a restriction of movement in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru, starting from midnight, Saturday 16th August 2025.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, who revealed this in a statement, said the measure is part of security arrangements to ensure a peaceful, hitch-free bye-elections in the affected areas.
It said only personnel on essential services and those with valid election assignments will be allowed to move during the restriction.
The Command in the statement urged residents to cooperate with security agencies, remain law-abiding, and avoid any actions that could disrupt the electoral process.
While assuring readiness to ensure a hitch-elections in the affected areas, the police command added that the restriction is aimed at safeguarding lives and preventing any breach of peace.
