Kaduna First Lady calls for intense sensitisation on breast cancer

Breast Cancer Awareness Week

In commemoration of the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Kaduna State First Lady, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani has held an awareness walk from Murtala Square to Independence Way in Kaduna.

Hajiya Hafsat said the work aims to create more awareness on the cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of breast cancer disease.


She added that the walk is also to honour millions of lives affected by breast cancer, and reaffirmed the state government's commitment to equitable access to care and improved survival for all.

Speaking in an interview, the founder of Think Pink Breast Cancer Foundation, and K-medics diagnosis, Fatima Kabiru Alkali and Moses Abode said the awareness walk is to reinforce the need for compassionate, timely, and quality care for all, calling on people to always visit the nearest hospital facilities for early detection.

Also, some participants interviewed reaffirmed their commitment to raising awareness, promoting early detection, supporting survivors and fighters, Fundraising for research, and Community engagement.
