No fewer than 150 less privileged students across Kaduna South Local Government Area and neighbouring communities are set to benefit from a free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) registration scholarship sponsored by the ASOFT Care Foundation.
The Founder of the foundation, Dr. Adam Abubakar Umar, made this known during a screening exercise held at Sabon Garin Tudun Wada in Kaduna South, where over 300 applicants sat for an aptitude test as part of the selection process.
According to him, the exercise was designed to identify qualified candidates who genuinely require financial support to pursue their academic aspirations.
Dr. Umar explained that the initiative forms part of the foundation’s broader mission to promote equal access to quality education and empower young people to realise their full potential.
He disclosed that more than 150 successful candidates would be registered for both the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examination and the West African Examinations Council Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, with the foundation covering all associated registration costs.
The founder urged prospective beneficiaries to remain focused, disciplined and committed to their studies, stressing the need for them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Some of the applicants who participated in the screening commended the foundation for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention, noting that the gesture would ease the financial burden on their families.
The screening process was conducted peacefully, with officials emphasising transparency and merit in the selection of beneficiaries.
