In a renewed effort to promote environmental cleanliness and achieve an Open Defecation Free (ODF) status, the Chikun Local Government Task Force Committee on Sanitation and Hygiene has embarked on another round of monitoring and enforcement across the twelve (12) wards of the Local Government Area.
In a statement by the Council's Head of Public Affairs, Tasi'u Dalhat Kajuru, the exercise was supervised by the Vice Chairman of Chikun LGA and Chairman of the Chikun Local Emergency Management Committee, Lawal Najume, along with the Director of Education & Social Development, Mrs. Ruth O. Markus, who also doubles as the Secretary of the Committee.
The supervisory team assessed ongoing sanitation practices and encouraged communities to uphold hygienic standards in line with public health regulations.
The Task Force reiterated its commitment to ensuring cleaner environments and eliminating open defecation across all wards.
