In an effort to curtail drug abuse, dealing and trafficking of illicit substances, the Kaduna State Command of the NDLEA has arrested 123 suspects in different operations in the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics, Shuaibu Yusuf Omale who stated this in a statement said the command has also seized 1,031 kilograms of hard drugs and destroyed 5 indian hemp farms in the state.
It reiterated the Command's active stance in combating drug abuse and trafficking via non-kinetic means such as sensitization campaigns, lectures, counselling and rehabilitation exercises.
According to the statement, the NDLEA State Commander, CN Mohammed Tukur affirms that the Command will not relent in its commitment to ensure that Kaduna State becomes drug-free and citizen's safety, security and sanity protected.
It expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Government, traditional rulers, religious leaders, sister security agencies, the media, citizens and all stakeholders in the State for their support, emphasizing that ridding drug scourge is a task that requires all hands-on deck.
