The National Population Commission (NPC) has taken its sensitization campaign to Local Government Areas in zone one of Kaduna State, with the aim of galvanizing public participation in the upcoming digital Population and Housing Census and the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (ECRVS) program.
Speaking during the visit to Makarfi local government area, the Federal Commissioner of the Commission for Kaduna State, Hajiya Sa'adatu Garba Dogonbauchi, emphasized the transformative potential of a fully digitized census to accurate national planning and equitable resource allocation.
She commended Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, whose administration's robust financial and logistical backing has been instrumental in ensuring that the tour reached every Local Government Area.
Ealier, the executive Chairman of Makarfi LGA, Garba Mohammed described the census as a catalyst for national development, assuring of readiness to support the commission's activities in the area for a successful population census exercise.
The collective initiative underscores a shared vision between the state and federal government to base future developmental plans in security, education, healthcare, and infrastructure on accurate, reliable demographic data.
