To strengthen institutional efficiency and improve regulatory services across the country, the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) has organized a capacity-building retreat for its zonal officers, technical officers, and liaison officers in Kaduna.
The retreat brought together key field personnel from all zones to review operational strategies, enhance professional competencies, and align with the Board’s mandate of safeguarding public health in the country.
Speaking during the event, the Registrar of the Board, Alhaji Bashir Idris Lifidin Jamaa, said that the retreat was organized to provide officers with updated regulatory knowledge, administrative tools, and operational guidelines needed to carry out their duties effectively.
Also speaking, former Registrar of the Board, Dr. Shono Allen Benimo said the retreat became necessary to equip the officers with the needed knowledge to deliver on the mandate of the board.
On his part, the Head of Administration and Human Resources of the Board, Lady Agomo Chika, stated that the retreat was designed to realign the officers with the mandate of the board and to enhance their productivity.
One of the resource persons at the retreat, Professor Katuka Yaki, said the retreat provides an opportunity to deepen knowledge, clarify roles, and foster synergy among officers responsible for implementing CHPRBN policies nationwide.
Participants at the event described the retreat as timely and impactful, noting that the renewed focus on capacity development will translate into better oversight and improved public confidence in the profession.
The retreat is expected to bolster the Board’s capacity to regulate community health practice more efficiently and improve service delivery to millions of Nigerians who depend on community health practitioners for essential healthcare services.
