Kano State government has commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for the swift response to recent attacks in parts of the state.
Spokesperson to the state governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, who stated this in a statement, said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made the commendation while receiving the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad Wase, at the Government House, Kano.
It said General Wase, who was in the state to assess the security situation in Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Governments commended gallant officers in the state.
The statement expressed Governor Yusuf’s appreciation to the military for their dedication and also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing competent service chiefs committed to national security.
It explained that the state government donated 10 Hilux trucks and 60 motorcycles to the Joint Task Force operating in the affected areas, reaffirming commitment to supporting security agencies in combating banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling.

In a related development, Borno State Government has distributed sixty-three operational vehicles to security agencies in Maiduguri to enhance surveillance and combat emerging threats.
The intervention includes thirty vehicles for ten sectors of the Civilian JTF, sixteen for Rapid Response and Anti-Social Vices units, ten for paramilitary organisations, six for local hunters, and one for the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Speaking on the gesture, the state Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum said the initiative aligns with his administration’s sustained efforts to strengthen security logistics across the state, assuring of continued support to the security apparatus in the state.
He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the service chiefs, and all personnel involved in Operation Hadin Kai for their outstanding dedication to peace restoration.
