In its effort to ensure that no one is left behind in access to healthcare, the Kaduna State Government, in collaboration with United Nations Children Fund, UNICEF, has taken an integrated medical outreach to a remote community.
UNICEF’s support also extends to education, particularly in Qur’anic and community schools, where children are now learning both Arabic and foundational literacy, giving them a stronger educational foundation.
An assessment visit conducted by UNICEF’s country representative during an integrated medical outreach at Tudun Kusa community of Wuciciri ward in Zaria Local Government Area, hundreds of women and children troop out for the free medical care, nutrition support, antenatal care and immunization.
The integrated community outreach is aimed at bringing essential services to people in hard-to-reach areas.
UNICEF’s Country Representative, Wafaa Saeed, who led her team for the visit, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and praised the Kaduna State Government’s commitment to child survival and development.
On her visit to a government school at fifth chucker in Mararraban Jos, and a pilot integrated Qur’anic learning center at Karofi, Zangon Aya, Igabi LGA, Mrs. Saeed noted UNICEF’s commitment to improving access to quality education for every child.
For residents like Abdulrahid Suleiman, the development at the Qur’anic learning centrr is a welcome change that gives new hope to children from low-income families.
With government investment and UNICEF’s support, programs like this are bringing healthcare and education closer to families in remote areas, giving every child in Kaduna State a fair chance at a healthier and brighter future.
