The Kaduna State Ministry of Education has officially responded to the resumption of strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) at Kaduna State University (KASU).
Speaking at a press briefing held on April 25, 2025, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Malam Rabiu Yunusa acknowledged the concerns raised by the strike and assured the public of the government's commitment to resolving the issues.
Malam Yunusa acknowledged the union's right to express grievances through lawful means and confirmed ongoing communication with university management and union representatives.
The strike reportedly stems from unresolved issues, including outstanding entitlements of KASU staff and the payment of third-party funds generated by tertiary institutions to the Treasury Single Account.
Governor Uba Sani has pledged to address these financial challenges, committing to phased payments despite the state's current financial constraints.
