The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kaduna State Chapter, has joins the global community to mark World AIDS Day 2025.
The event theme, “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response,” highlights the urgent need to strengthen HIV prevention, care, and support services, while addressing challenges that hinder progress.
This is contained in a statement signed by the secretary of the association, Hadiza Bello Abdullahi.
It said the Chairperson of the association, Comrade Sahura Jibril Maidoki, stressed the vital role that the media play in promoting accurate health information, encouraging regular testing, and fostering compassionate attitudes toward people living with HIV.
On her part, the Secretary, Hadiza Bello Abdullahi, called for continued collaboration among government agencies, healthcare providers, civil society, and the media to ensure sustained progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
She reaffirmed NAWOJ’s commitment to amplifying messages that empower women, protect youth, and promote inclusive access to health services.
NAWOJ Kaduna urges all stakeholders and members of the public to intensify awareness campaigns, support affected individuals, and uphold the dignity and rights of every person living with HIV/AIDS.
The body further encourage everyone to get tested, share accurate information, and contribute to building a more resilient and inclusive HIV response.
Together, we can overcome disruption and transform the fight against HIV/AIDS.
